At the beginning of his career, Kevin worked for Swiss Re in the large corporate direct insurance division called Swiss Re Corporate Solutions. A personal incident of medical malpractice has made him find his purpose in health management. Today, Kevin is the CEO at SIP Medical Family Office. For over 25 years, individuals, families, and companies have been relying on SIP’s expertise to protect their health around the world. Founded as an International Private Medical Insurance advisor, SIP has developed into what is today known as a Medical Family Office. Combining the expertise from private medical insurance with a holistic approach towards proactively planning one’s health, it has been SIP’s mission to protect people’s health since 1997.

Dr Mayoni Gooneratne is a physician, educator, TEDx speaker and healthcare entrepreneur recognised internationally for pioneering a preventative, personalised approach to health, longevity and women’s medicine. Following a successful career as an NHS colorectal and pelvic floor surgeon, she transitioned into functional and longevity medicine with a mission to transform healthcare from reactive disease management to proactive health optimisation.

This challenge is particularly acute for internationally mobile families.

Steve Martin has been in the Global Health Insurance Industry for more than 25 years, working for some of the largest companies in the industry. Steve has held various different positions in different regions throughout the world. He has worked for Cigna Healthcare for 10 years now and has significantly grown the Cigna Healthcare Global Individual Health business throughout Europe and the UK with key Broker Partners. Steve lives in Manchester, UK with his wife and 2 children. He is a keen golfer and cyclist (when he gets time!) and enjoys taking his children to their various sports activities at the weekend.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy, Léa specialised in orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation. She began her career in an independent practice, focusing on restoring function and improving quality of life through tailored rehabilitation programs.
She joined Swiss Medical Network in 2017, a leading private medical group in Switzerland, where she initiated and led the development of a rehabilitation application designed to enhance and accelerate recovery following surgery or injury, including complex neurological conditions. She later advanced into the role of International Medical Coordinator, managing and coordinating medical treatments for an international clientele, ensuring a seamless and high-quality care experience.

Teresa Wighton took up the role of Commercial Director at William Russell in November 2024. With nearly 31 years of experience in the international health insurance industry, Teresa has a proven track record of building high-performing sales teams and driving business growth. She has held senior sales leadership roles at Cigna, Aviva, and Bupa Global, where she spearheaded B2B expansion and led a major sales transformation program.
As Commercial Director at William Russell, Teresa’s focused on expanding our global business, strengthening relationships with key broker partners, and ensuring our direct-to-business segment continues to thrive. She works closely with our underwriting and marketing teams to maintain a balance between growth and long-term sustainability. A passionate leader, she’s committed to fostering a workplace where people feel empowered and engaged - an approach that helped her achieve record-breaking employee engagement scores in a previous role.
Since joining, Teresa’s energy and ambition is clearly evident. Both as we continue to drive the huge success of our 30-year + history and, as we focus for our next chapter, driving forward our growth ambitions in the international health and protection space and our continued success.
Beyond work, Teresa certainly enjoys a challenge. She once walked the entire 100-mile South Downs Way in just 6.5 days, studied wine to diploma level with the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (a self-proclaimed “qualified wine snob”), and even braved a zip wire from St Paul’s Cathedral for charity.
